Today I finally paid my deposit for my room in the halls at Derby University :D
(I also made a much needed post to my blog, but that is beside the point)

It's practically a sealed deal now, all I am waiting for is a confirmation from Student Finance that they received the proof of income and for them to assess my application so I know I will actually be able to survive 4 years (probably) without a steady source of money...

That was £230 I could have done without spending at the moment, but I did need to get the room asap.

So, I have decided to put out the new layout for a road test :D

If no one comes back and says it is not working then I will assume it is all OK :P

The layout is rather different to the old one, there is now an awesome twitter button in the top corner, click it to see what I am doing and to tweet me.
Menu is now on the left, and the feeds are listed on there now as well, more for my benefit than anything else.

Other than that, it is pretty much the same.

I have just started working on a new theme for the site, the one here now was only intended to be temporary. But as always it looks better on paper than the actual thing does at the moment :(

I have attached a shot of the current stage of the design, but it is far from complete..

So I signed into my email this morning to find that SpamAssassin had been sleeping on the job and had let through a solitary spam message.

As with all cases where this happens, I had a glance through it to see what the message was trying to say, and on this occasion the grammar and content of the email were so appauling I felt compelled to respond simply to enlighten the poor author of his/her errors in their handling of the English language :)

On January 28th 2010 I decided to pack in smoking (for good this time...)

So far so good, I have not had a smoke in 4 days and feel fine, no urges or anything :D
Probably helps that the guy I am working with at the moment doesn't smoke at all, so no temptation or at home.

Really hoping I manage to quit for longer than the 4 months I achieved last year.

I currently work in tech support for a PC company in a small town called Swindon in the UK. My aim is to go to University this year(2010) to study Internet Programming [hell yeah =D] Still waiting on the final decision from Derby University for this though.
