I downloaded the gooveshark app for my iPhone a couple of weeks ago
via Cydia as I love using it on my PC. it is the most awesome
streaming service I have found (for free anyway) but I was slightly
disgruntled to discover upon opening the app that it was VIP only :(

Cydia is renowned for it's lack of speed and excessive data rebuilding
so I generally go in to update once a month, which happened to be
yesterday. I saw there was a new grooveshark update so I thought I may
as well update that while I was there.

Now on opening groovehark again, I was greeted by a message informing
me that I can play 50 tracks over a 2 week period (!) Not brilliant by
any means, but it is a move in a good direction. I have had a quick
play about in the app now and even on high a high bitrate setting the
sings download and play well on O2's notouriously poor 3G service, the
entire songs were downloaded in about 30seconds on average and apart
from the max volume benig a bit low the quality was almost perfect :D

I have a feeling I will hit that 50song limit fairly quickly, but I am
looking forward in anticipation to the next release to hopefully see
that limit increased or removed.

Huge kudos to Grooveshark. Very nice app, clean interface and great
feel :)
